Welcome to My Digital Garden 🌱
Hi there! My name is Josh Garrett, and I’m thrilled to have you here. This space is a reflection of my journey—a constantly growing collection of thoughts, ideas, and discoveries that I’m eager to share.
I’m a homeschooled teen with a deep love for learning and exploring new horizons. Whether I’m strumming my guitar, diving into the pages of an engaging book, or tinkering with lines of code, I find joy in delving into the things that ignite my curiosity.
What You’ll Find Here
- Coding Adventures: I’m learning to code and building my skills one step at a time. I’m documenting what I learn, from JavaScript basics to creating fun projects, so others can learn with me.
- Guitar Stories: Music is a big part of my life, and guitar playing allows me to express what words sometimes can’t. Maybe I’ll even share a few of my fingerstyle tabs here!
- Investing Curiosity: Recently, I’ve been diving into the world of mutual funds and personal finance. I’m eager to understand how investments work and how they can shape a secure future.
- Creative Corner: When I’m not coding or reading, I enjoy sketching and capturing moments through photography. These hobbies help me slow down and appreciate the beauty around me.
- Retros: I write my weekly retros (What went well, what didn't and my todo) here.
Goals I’m Working On
- Master fingerstyle guitar techniques.
- Learn how to build a basic web applications in Deno.
- Doing 50 pullups and 60 pushups.
Books I Love
Here are some books that have had a big impact on me recently:
- Miracles by CS. Lewis — Really deep philosophy, I'm still at page 30 trying to understand each and every point of it. 😔
- Harry Potter : The whole series by JK. Rowling — A classic, a magic school for young wizards and witches.
- Alex Rider by Anthony Horowitz — A teen superspy that saves the world in every book. I love the suspense and action.
- Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle — A genius detective who's a master in the science of deduction. The plot twists, the genius deductions and the eventual reveal of the murderer always excites me.
- The Diamond Brothers by Anthony Horowitz — One dumb and one smart brother solve crimes making for a comedic duo.
